A Cooling Vest Tale

Posted by

Once upon a time there was only one type of cooling vest.

This particular cooling vest was around for years before Coolture was a twinkle in anyone's eye -- and we believe in giving credit where credit is due. The vest was intended for industrial and military personnel, and was later suggested for use by people with Multiple Sclerosis.

Years later, on a January day in the forseeable future, fashion designer Van DiBernardo set out to design a cooling vest that might not only meet the performance needs of modern-day consumers, but that would also meet the aesthetic demands of our discriminating culture. The result was a cooling vest made with high quality performance fabrics, manufactured in the United States, and with a durability that would last for years.

Those same years later, Nike introduced a pre-cool vest to the swimmers in the Beijing Olympics. The Nike Pre-Cool Vest was aimed at improving the endurance of the athletes during the Olympic season heat wave. Made from molded triangular cells, the vest is cooling by filling a handful of plugged portals with water, much in the way we fill our swimming pool rafts. Though likely awkward to freeze and wear, and never manufactured for consumer use, the visual effect was undeniably show-stopping, as only Nike can do.

Coolture has neither the first nor the flashiest cooling vest. Rather, Coolture offers the 1st cooling vest to provide long-distance cooling performance with non-stop integrity. For athletics, for wellness, for work, for life.
